INTERNATIONAL POKER NETWORK STATISTICS
IPN got a major traffic boost when Cryptologic decided to close its poker network after William Hill and Betfair announced they would leave Cryptologic. Boss Media made a 5 year contract with Cryptologic securing a lot of skins from Cryptologic such as Inter Poker, Opoker & Classic Poker.
You can find more details in our International Poker Network review.
The network suffered a major blow in June 2010, when the French Government with ARJEL ring fenced the French market. The graph shows a 25% drop in a month since the many French players from SportingBet & Betclic vanished over night.
Another 33% drop since then was recorded when Betclic left the network to join Everest Poker approximately a year later.
IPN has the same amount of players now as it did in September 2006. With SportingBet and Paradise Poker adding Ongame to its portfolio we are inclined to believe that the IPN network might fade away and potentially close in the years to come. This might sound like a hard verdict but if another major partner leaves it might cause a domino effect.
